MDL is a model image file associated with Half Life, a popular video game that was first released in 1998. The science-fiction shooter game had subsequent releases and upgraded, the latest being launched in 2007. MDL is considered a rare format and is probably difficult to use outside the game software. I finally go this to work after days and days for head banging!! Problem with Model Converter X. I can open the FSX static_plane.bgl files and they look fabulous. But when I try to export them into FS 2004 format, I get this: Click on the image of the floppy disk to download. Installation is easy - create a new folder (outside of any Program Files folder) and place the downloaded files into that folder. I named my folder ModelConverterX. You can create a desktop shortcut by right clicking the ModelConverterX.exe file of the program and choosing Copy. ModelConverterX can export as TGI file, that you can run through the Content Converter yourself. Or you can export as a TSC scenery directly. I'm not sure if exporting directly to TSC suits in the typical AeroFly workflow, at the moment ModelConverterX can't add an object to an existing scenery. That might be a good addition for the future.
